SUCCESS STORY: MAZE
Maze is a middle-aged neutered Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The owner reported that Maze has pruritus year-round and previous treatment with Apoquel®, OTC hydrocortisone and antihistamines were ineffective. The owner's goal was to provide treatment that would manage Maze’s symptoms by providing year-round relief.
BEFORE

Maze presented with severe pruritus, epidermal collarettes, alopecia and erythema. He was diagnosed with suspected canine atopic dermatitis.
The treatment plan included:
- Zenrelia: start once-daily dosing to control pruritus
- Start: appropriate antibiotic and medicated shampoos/creams
AFTER

- 11 days after beginning treatment, Maze’s pruritus had significantly decreased
- Complete resolution of lesions on abdomen and axillae; lichenification much improved

Karen is a senior spayed Toy Poodle. The owner noted that Karen was not only extremely itchy, but that she had been more irritable than usual. Although there was no significant dermatitis, the symptoms Karen experienced were still affecting her quality of life. The owner's goal was to provide treatment that would control Karen's pruritus and improve her quality of life.

SUCCESS STORY: CODA
Coda is a middle-aged intact male French Bulldog. The owner reported that Coda presented with chronic allergies with no improvement when treated with Apoquel, Cytopoint®, and limited relief with ongoing allergen specific immunotherapy (ASIT) and a prescription diet. Coda responded well to cyclosporine but developed gastrointestinal issues. The owner's goal was to provide effective and long-lasting treatment that Coda could tolerate.
BEFORE

Coda presented with pruritus, excoriations, sores, alopecia, erythema, epidermal collarettes and lichenification.
The treatment plan included:

- Start: topical antibiotic while waiting for results of culture to prescribe systemic antibiotics
- Continue: ASIT and prescription diet

SUCCESS STORY: BRIDGETTE
Bridgette is a senior spayed Chihuahua. The owner reported that Bridgette had undergone a variety of treatments since 2018 with little success in managing her symptoms. She had minimal response to Cytopoint and Apoquel, and experienced negative side effects with antibiotics and steroids. The owner's goal was to provide treatment that would manage Bridgette’s symptoms without side effects.

SUCCESS STORY: LOVE
Love is a senior spayed mixed breed. The owner reported that Love remained very itchy while undergoing ASIT and using medicated shampoos/creams. Previous treatment with Apoquel and Cytopoint provided only limited relief. The owner's goal was to find treatment to aid in the management of Love’s symptoms while undergoing ASIT.

The treatment plan included:

- Continue: ASIT, medicated shampoos/creams, appropriate antibiotics and antifungals to treat pyoderma and Malassezia dermatitis
AFTER

SUCCESS STORY: MARSHALL
Marshall is a 14-year-old neutered Australian Cattle Dog mix. The owner reported that Marshall had incomplete control of chronic, non-seasonal allergic dermatitis with use of Apoquel, Cytopoint and a limited ingredient diet. SUCCESS STORY: BUDDY
Buddy is a senior neutered mixed breed. The owner reported that Buddy had incomplete control of atopy and food allergy dermatitis while on a hypoallergenic diet, oral steroids, antihistamines, Cytopoint, an off-label dose of Apoquel, and medicated shampoos/creams. The owner's goal was to find a treatment that would allow Buddy to decrease the number of treatments needed to manage his symptoms.

Buddy presented with chronic pruritus, excoriations, erythema, alopecia, hyperpigmentation and lichenification.
The treatment plan included:

- Other treatment: Continue antihistamines and hypoallergenic diet
AFTER

- Since starting Zenrelia, Buddy has been less pruritic and more playful at home

SUCCESS STORY: FRANK
Frank is a middle-aged neutered French Bulldog. The owner reported that Frank’s symptoms were being managed with oral corticosteroids and a prescription diet, but there was concern about long-term corticosteroid use. Previous treatment with Apoquel and Cytopoint had been unsuccessful. The owner's goal was to find a nonsteroidal treatment to manage Frank’s pruritus.
BEFORE

Frank presented with pruritus, urticaria and alopecia.
The treatment plan included:
- Zenrelia: start once daily dosing to control pruritus.
- Continue: prescription diet and appropriate medications to manage pre-existing GI symptoms (chronic vomiting and diarrhoea).
AFTER

- Canine atopic dermatitis symptoms significantly improved

- Other treatments: continue feeding prescription diet and using appropriate medications to manage pre-existing GI symptoms. Start steroid inhaler to manage allergic bronchitis, now Frank is no longer on oral steroids for skin condition

SUCCESS STORY: HUDSON
Hudson is a middle-aged neutered Labrador Retriever. The owner reported that Hudson's previous treatment with Apoquel and steroids was ineffective, and Hudson is experiencing insufficient relief and flares on Cytopoint, antihistamines, skin supplements and food for sensitive skin and GI issues. The owner's goal was to find an effective treatment that provides sufficient relief from Hudson’s symptoms of canine atopic dermatitis.
