COMPETITIVE EFFECTS IN ACTION

Competitive effects of Gallipro Fit

GALLIPRO® FIT has been shown to inhibit undesirable bacterial species, including:

  • Salmonella5,6
  • E. coli7,8
  • Campylobacter9
  • Clostridium10-12
  • Various pathogenic E. cecorum (known to contribute towards osteomyelitis and arthritis in broiler chickens)13

This is due to the unique composition of Bacillus strains, which:

  • Siderophore activity of Gallipro Fit

Have superior siderophore activity14 meaning undesirable bacterial species don’t have the essential iron that is needed for survival.

  • Gallipro Fit produces lipopeptides

    Produce lipopeptides
(surfactins and fengycins) known to be inhibitory to some undesirable bacterial species9,17

  • Gallipro Fit bacillus spp produce a beneficial biofilm

    Form a beneficial biofilm
which acts as a physical barrier against undesirable bacterial species15
