: The HTSi process is split into three phases:
Phase 1 involves conducting autopsies on six birds per flock and assessing health parameters, with secure data entry into the HTSi database.
Phase 2 focuses on analysing findings using index scoring and benchmarking, producing a detailed summary report.
During Phase 3, Elanco's experts interpret the data, offering tailored recommendations for early issue detection and predictive strategies for effective poultry health management.

: The HTSi annual report highlights the service’s significant efforts in poultry health surveillance during 2022. It details the findings from the post-mortems of 5,244 birds covering over 300 UK farms, including seven broiler integrators.
This comprehensive examination represents 90% of the UK market and highlights poultry coccidiosis peaks, Intestinal Integrity (I²) trends and locomotor health information.
The report aims to provide valuable insights into the health status and challenges facing the poultry industry. It offers a foundation for informed decision-making and strategic interventions to enhance flock health and productivity across the UK.

: In 2022, the UK experienced unprecedented levels of coccidiosis and a notable decline in Intestinal Integrity (I²). This is attributed to the instability in controlling coccidial populations due to changes in anticoccidial programs.
This led to increased incidences of poultry coccidiosis going into winter 2022, posing a greater challenge to the poultry industry.
Throughout the summer of 2023, this instability was intensified by additional factors, such as high rainfall, significant temperature fluctuations, and viral challenges, further disturbing coccidial stability and heightening poultry health problems.
