Easy to Pick Up, Hard to Diagnose

Tapeworm infections are common, but some can be easy to miss.

White tapeworm icon on a green circle.

Dipylidium caninum can be diagnosed by their shedding of large, visible proglottids. Adult tapeworms range from 15-70 cm.9

White magnifying tapeworm icon on a green circle.

Echinococcus are difficult to diagnose due to their small size and low number of body segments. E. granulosus grow to just 2-7 mm.10

A Disease Risk

Tapeworms don't just threaten dogs: they can be passed to humans. CAPC recommends monthly deworming of dogs with praziquantel in areas where E. granulosus tapeworms are endemic.10

A single monthly dose of Credelio Quattro has been shown to be 100% efficacious against tapeworms# in dogs with its industry-established dose of praziquantel (2.28mg/lb).
